The trio from Nottingham, England, whose fusion of funk, blues, soul, & rock, are certain to get your feet tapping and head nodding. So if you want to hear a mixture of Jimi Hendrix and the 50’s sound, you won't do better than to start here.

Stand your Ground, which is their second album, was recorded between New York with Dan The Automator on the producing skills and the help of Russell Simins (of Blues Explosion) on drums and London with Mike "Prince Fatty" Pelanconi as producer and new drummer Billy Skinner. Little Barrie are currently recording their 3rd album and are about to go on a UK tour with Paul Weller.

* AC/DC's “no downloads” policy has slipped through the cracks in Australia. Download service BigPond Music currently has 16 AC/DC albums on sale. AC/DC has been opposed to the digital download format and outspoken about being involved with download companies. Bigpond Music stated : “We are not selling the new album but we are selling the old albums bundled because AC/DC want to sell it as an album”. Read the whole story here.

* AC/DC will hit a milestone during their upcoming "Black Ice" U.S. tour and play its 2,000th concert. Due to the lack of solid touring information during the years 1974/75 when the band played clubs and pubs in Australia, it is impossible to pinpoint exactly which concert will bear this number, but according to information available at this time, concert No. 2000 should take place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on December 20, 2008. What is certain is that this milestone will be reached at some point during the "Black Ice" tour.

* AC/DC's "Black Ice" is not only the biggest selling album of the week in Australia, it is the biggest selling album of the year. 83,855 copies of "Black Ice" sold last week in the first full week of sales, earning it its first platinum stripe. (Platinum is 70,000 in Australia.)

* AC/DC held a "dress rehearsal" for their Black Ice World Tour on Sunday, October 26. at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in front of 3,000 specially invited fans from around the world. Read a review in Norwegian here. English here.

* A statue honouring AC/DC’s Bon Scott was unveiled at the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour in Western Australia on Saturday, October 25. Although born in Scotland, Bon Scott grew up in Fremantle. Bon was born in 1946 and his family emigrated to Australia in the early 1950s. Little Bon started out his newfound Australian life in Melbourne. The family lived in the suburb of Sunshine for four years before moving to Fremantle. The Mayor of Fremantle, Peter Tagliaferri, did the official unveiling of the statue.

* Wal-Mart and Columbia Records have announce a milestone record breaking event for AC/DC's "Black Ice", reaching No. 1 this week in U.S. music sales. Selling more than 780,000 units in the U.S. since its release October 20, "Black Ice" also represents the first No. 1 album for the band on the album charts in the U.S.

That makes No. 1 in 29 countries and in all, nearly five million copies of "Black Ice" have shipped worldwide. And when you take in to account the roughly five million albums from their back catalog AC/DC has sold this year - hard physical copies, mind you, no downloads - and it's safe to say it doesn't suck to be in that band.

The next highest charting albums for the band are 1990’s ‘The Razor’s Edge’ (2), 1976’s ‘Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap’ (3), 1980’s ‘Back In Black’ and 1995’s ‘Ballbreaker’(4), 2000’s ‘Ballbreaker’ (7). No other AC/DC album has cracked the US top 10.

It is interesting to not the relatively low peak position of ‘Back In Black’ on the US chart. Despite never going to number one in America, the album has become the 5th biggest selling album on all-time in the USA after Eagles ‘Their Greatest Hits’, Michael Jackson ‘Thriller’, Led Zeppelin ‘IV’ and Pink Floyd ‘The Wall’.

"It's overwhelming, and quite hard to take in," the legendary group's lead singer, Brian Johnson, said Wednesday after learning his group had 2008's second-biggest album debut.
"Even an old dog like me has a few more surprises in life, I guess," he said, chuckling.

* The band is also dominating the U.S. Rock Radio chart, where “Rock N’ Roll Train” has remained perched at No.1 since its debut back in early-September.

* The UK's Guardian newspaper - Alexis Petridis argues that AC/DC's success means very tough times are ahead. He points out that AC/DC's biggest-selling albums – 1980's Back In Black, 1990's The Razor's Edge and 2008's Black Ice – have all coincided with recessions. And AC/DC released their first album, in 1973, just at the onset of the oil crisis. When the economy was more buoyant, say in 1985, the AC/DC album of that year (Fly On The Wall) was a relative flop.

"AC/DC's appeal in unpredictable times is straightforward," argues Petridis, likely with his tongue in his cheek. "People crave something uncomplicated and dependable in a time of uncertainty, and rock music has never produced a band so uncomplicated and dependable as AC/DC."

* Smashing Pumpkins mainman Billy Corgan has told Entertainment Weekly that he understands why the shift toward exclusive deals with a single major retailer is paying off for a beleagured music business. "At the end of the day, it's about marketing," Corgan said. "I've heard literally 25 to 30 commercials for AC/DC; that's the most amount of energy I've heard about an AC/DC record in 20 years! Because the labels weren't gonna do that. They treat a band like AC/DC with a sort of reverant distance. Throw it out there and if it clicks, great. If not, they'd bury it. So great for AC/DC and great for Wal-Mart."

* Robert Trujillo told The Pulse of Radio, that with lead guitarist Kirk Hammett away for part of the time with a new baby, it fell to him to act as the referee between frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich. "It was an honor for me to sort of mediate most of the time, 'cause Kirk was away, and to be in the same room with Lars and James when they're arranging a METALLICA song is a wonderful experience, like going to the best school of music and arranging and songwriting you could ever imagine," he said. Trujillo also said that Hetfield and Ulrich, the band's chief songwriters, were "open" to his ideas as well.

* El Universal México conducted an interview with Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich at the "Los Premios MTV Latinoamérica 2008" event, which was held on October 16, 2008 in Guadalajara, Mexico. View the interview here.

* After only six weeks on the shelves, Metallica's Death Magnetic has been certified platinum by the RIAA. The album, released on September 12, is the band's ninth album and their fifth #1 album. To date, it has sold over 1.2 million copies in the US alone.

* Metallica has added a second show in Madrid to their upcoming Euro tour, on the 14. July.

* The summer of vinyl has stretched into Fall with the re-issue of "…And Justice For All" as part of the on-going series that will eventually see the entire catalog available again. "Justice" is now available in North America as a two disc package for the 33.3 version, and in a box for the four disc, 180 gram, 45 rpm edition. Rest of the world will get it on December 1. Next up is the "Black Album"

Even artists such as Michael Jackson and Prince, that have banned their videos from Youtube, are available at MTV Music. So it will be a good addition to the music video scene.

* Jimi Hendrix, The Raconteurs, The Smashing Pumpkins are all coming to Guitar Hero World Tour as downloadable content.

Jimi Hendrix : The blues track “If 6 was 9” rhythm and blues classic “Little Wing” and a live version of the iconic Hendrix track “Fire”.

The Raconteurs : Are set to leave their mark with three tracks off their second album Consolers of the Lonely. The trio of “Salute Your Solution” “Hold Up” and “Consoler of the Lonely” will debut on a video game as part of a three song set list.

The Smashing Pumpkins : Will debut their new single "G.L.O.W." exclusively in the game. The new track, bundled with two other rocking Smashing Pumpkins hits, “1979” and “The Everlasting Gaze” will be available post-launch of the game as a three-song downloaded content pack.

Additionally, on-disc with the release of Guitar Hero World Tour this fall, The Smashing Pumpkins’ singer, songwriter and lead guitarist Billy Corgan will appear as an in-game character and will bring with him “Today” the band’s smash hit from their pivotal and four-times platinum 1993 album Siamese Dream.

* On October 31. Amazon.com will put on for sale a Gene Simmons Guitar Hero controller, named "The Axe". The axe-shaped guitar is compatible with both Guitar Hero and Rock Band, and features a bi-directional strum bar, an analog whammy bar, and ultra-responsive fret buttons.The guitar, which is only compatible with the Playstation 2 and 3, also comes with a sticker of Gene Simmons' face and signature on the front.

* Logitech will release a Guitar Hero controller that costs as much as a real guitar, $250. The new controller has a Strat-style design and features a wood neck, rosewood fingerboard and metal frets. It works with all versions of Guitar Hero on the PS2 and PS3 and should be available in December.

"There's no better feeling than being the guy with the best instrument when you walk into your friend's house to jam on Guitar Hero," said Ruben Mookerjee, Logitech's director of product marketing for gaming.

* You can of course do it like Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne has done it. The band's latest piece of crazy gear has been revealed to be a double-neck Epiphone G-1275 customised to include, amongst other things, a Guitar Hero controller.

Coyne explained "I've constructed this great looking Guitar Hero double-neck guitar thing here because there's a lot of kids out there that actually think this is how you play guitar now. You just press a series of four or five buttons and it makes every sound the guitar can make."
Coyne's pimped double neck consists of one regular guitar neck, and a neck with a Guitar Hero controller hooked up to a Korg Kaossilator. you can hear it here.

Slash to release solo album.

In an interview with Billboard.com, Slash revealed that he's set to record a solo album early next year, which will feature different singers for each song. Who that is, are not yet clear. Read the full interview here.

* Led Zeppelin are releasing a limited- edition CD boxed set containing Japanese imports of all 10 of the band's albums in mini-LP replicas with artwork from the original LP sleeves. The Led Zeppelin Definitive Collection boxed set will be available on November 4 for a suggested price of $199.98.

The mini-LP replicas CD boxed set includes Led Zeppelin (1969), Led Zeppelin II (1969), Led Zeppelin III (1970), Led Zeppelin IV (1971), Houses of the Holy (1973), Physical Graffiti (1975), Presence (1976), The Song Remains the Same (1976), In Through the Out Door (1979), and Coda (1982). The sleeves included in the boxed set feature the original LP album artwork released in the U.K., including the original printing of the group's debut, which used turquoise ink on the cover for the band's name and the Atlantic Records logo. * The Black Keys are set to record with ZZ Top this weekend in Los Angeles, with the Rick Rubin-produced session set to feature on the Texan trio's new album. It has already been rumoured that ZZ Top are set to return to the rawer, bluesier sound of their roots, and Billy F Gibbons has expressed his admiration for The Black Keys because they are "down and dirty, which is good for ZZ Top."

* The Black Keys will follow the success of this year's Attack & Release with a live DVD. The Black Keys Live at the Crystal Ballroom showcases the band's set from April 4 of this year at the titular Portland, Oregon venue, and it's due on November 18.

* The Raconteurs release another 7" vinyl single, the second 7" in as many months. It features two versions of "Old Enough" both recorded at the Bonnaroo festival this June. It's one live version and one backstage acoustic version. You can get it at TheRaconteurs.com.

* According to Aerosmith guitarist Brad Withford, Aerosmith are sitting on a new record and hope to get it out sometime next year. "We're sitting on a bunch of music we've already recorded for a new album," guitarist Brad Whitord, who's currently on the road as part of the all-star Experience Hendrix tour, tells Billboard.com. "We haven't gone back into the studio the put the final touches on it and get it done and still don't know when we're gonna do that. Hopefully it'll be sooner rather than later."

* In other Aerosmith news, Ticketmaster, the world's leading ticketing company, has announced an agreement to acquire a controlling equity interest in Front Line Management Group Inc., the artist management company that represents AEROSMITH, JOURNEY, and GUNS N' ROSES, among others. Ticketmaster also announced that Irving Azoff, founder and chief executive officer of Front Line, will become Chief Executive Officer of Ticketmaster.

* LCD Soundsystem to record "Classic Rock" album. Speaking to BBC 6 Music, James Murphy said that he's been playing bass with a new band that's signed to his DFA label, and that the album they're working on will be "a rock record, a classic rock record". The line-up features Scott Wells and Paul Sprangers, previous members of a band called Hockey Night, and also LCD's live drummer Pat Mahoney. The group is already recording and Murphy expects a release in the "first half" of 2009.

* Alice In Chains is reportedly in the studio with producer Nick Raskulinecz, also producer for Foo Fighters, working on their first album of new material since 1995's self-titled album. The band, which has all of its original members, with vocalist William DuVall in place of the deceased Layne Staley, will also participate in 2009 on the main-stage of Australia's Soundwave Festival (February 21 - March 1), alongside Lamb of God, Alkaline Trio, and Nine Inch Nails.

This marks the second time DIMMU BORGIR has landed at No. 1 in Norway. The band's most recent album, "In Sorte Diaboli", topped the chart upon its release in 2007. "The Invaluable Darkness" sold 1,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 5 on the Top Music Videos chart.

* AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson is eyeing retirement, according to an interview he conducted with USA Today. "At 61, this could be my last shot," Johnson said, but he added that the run-throughs for the band’s upcoming tour "have been as smooth as a gravy sandwich". He added: "I try to look after my health. I don't do a six-mile jog. I might do a half-hour on a bike in the morning." Read more here. * Angus Young, reveals that it was Sandra Young, the wife of George Young, the brother of Angus and Malcolm, that came up with the name AC/DC and the idea for Angus to be wearing the School Uniform. “She used to always say “Angus would be running home and grabbing his guitar and he had his school suit and he was out the door” or I’d be locked in my room banging away on the guitar,” he said. “My sister always remembered me in a school uniform when I had my guitar. * Brian Johnson is sure that the advancing age of the group's members is a huge factor in people wanting to see the show. He says, "Some fans are saying, 'The singer's 61. I'm going to that gig. I might see him die.'

* AC/DC said it will not release any of its music, including its new album Black Ice, digitally. "We believe people still like to buy albums," added singer Brian Johnson as he talked about the decision not to make the songs available individually online. "These songs belong together. It's about five boys having a damn good time in a studio."

* Bryan "Brain" Mantia, drummer who joined GN'R in 2000, talks about the recording of Chinese Democracy and how more than $300.000 was spent over a seven-month period on redoing drum bits note for note after Josh Freese left the band. You can read more here or see the interview here.

* The album is seventeen years in the making, with the recording process beginning in early 1994. In 1999, Geffen Records paid Axl Rose $1 million to get the album out by March 1st of that year. Needless to say, that did not happen.

* The Chinese Democracy Tour began in 2001 and has had five different legs, the most recent being completed in 2007. 119 dates were announced, 54 of which were cancelled. Rumor has it the band are plotting a tour to support the album early next year.

* In 2003, The Offspring titled their new album Chinese Democracy (You Snooze, You Lose) Frontman Dexter Holland said this was retaliation for Axl stealing his braided look.

* Sebastian Bach, close friend of Rose, has claimed Chinese Democracy is the first of a trilogy of new Guns N' Roses album to be released between now and 2012.

There’s no better way to say it: they rock!

Mexicans Rodrigo Y Gabriela (Y stands for And) met in Mexico City while playing in a thrash metal band called "Tierra Acida". After seven years of playing around Mexico they felt they had done the band thing, the metal thing, and that they got nowhere, so they decided to move to Dublin, Irland in 1999. Where they could do their own thing and started to play in the streets and pubs of Dublin.

They got their brake when Damien Rice asked them support his shows in 2003, and soon after they released "Re-Foc", and a year later, "Live Manchester and Dublin," which where recorded during an extensive tour of the UK.

“Rodrigo Y Gabriela” was released in 2006 and went straight to the top of the Irish charts beating both the Arctic Monkeys & Johnny Cash to the number one spot.

Their sound incorporate elements of Latin jazz, funk, folk and metal, mixing it up to give us an unique album.

Jens Carelius plays Folk Blues that gets you thinking of the 1960-70’s. And with influences like Bert Jansch, Robert Johnson, the late English folk scene & 30’s American blues, that’s not so strange.

His debut album “The First Songs” was released January 28. 2008.

Oasis new album on "Guitar Hero World Tour" + Teasers

* Oasis is preparing to release their entire new album, Dig Out Your Soul, on "Guitar Hero: World Tour" in the next year. First up will be the "Oasis Track Pack" on November 6 (US), which features three songs off their new album; Bag It Up, Waiting For The Rapture & The Shock Of The Lightning. The rest of the album will be released sometime in 2009.

* Tool guitarist Adam Jones spoke to Rollling Stone recently about the rock band lending their songs to the "Guitar Hero: World Tour" video game. This is the first video game with Tool's involvement in it. The band told publisher Activision that they would lend songs to the game if Tool was involved with the artwork and design.

"It was a really exciting situation for us to express ourselves and work with other artists, and do something where we walked away going, 'Yeah, wow, that turned out really good,'" said Jones. The game incorporates a digital venue based on Tool's album artwork and videos. The three Tool songs in "Guitar Hero: World Tour" are Parabola, Schism & Vicarious.

* AC/DC to release an "AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack", giving us the chance to rock trough 18 AC/DC classics. It's getting released in the US in early November and are being followed by Europe in time for christmas, wich means early December.

Major Parkinson

Jon Ivar Kollbotn (Lead Vocals); André Lund (Electric Guitars); Alf Borge (Electric & Acoustic Guitars/Background Vocals); Eivind Gammersvik (Bass); Cato Olaisen (Drums).

“Major Parkinson is a genuine concept of alternative pop/rock. Listen and get caught!” – This quote is taken from “About Major Parkinson – Myspace” and I listened and I got caught.

How to best describe Major Parkinson? I’d say a theatrical mix of Tom Waits & Tim Burton, at least that’s what pops in to my mind when I hear and see Major Parkinson. The music and lyrics is based around the life of “Johnny Parkinson”, a fictional character made by the band.

Major Parkinson got a major break when Sylvia Massy Shivy heard them on Myspace and wrote “My new favorite band!” on their guestbook. Sylvia Massy Shivy is a record producer who has worked with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, System Of A Down and Norwegian bands such as Big Bang, Seigmen, Animal Alpha & Furia. The boys soon after travelled to California and Radio Star Studios to record their debút album, during the summer of 2006.

The self titled album was released August 21. 2008, to almost exclusively good reviews.

Harmonix and MTV Games announced today the release of a 7 track Nirvana pack for Rock Band. All songs are master recordings.

Songs to be released are:

Breed, Lounge Act, On a Plain, Polly, Something in the Way, Stay Away, & Territorial Pissings.

October 21, 2008 for the Xbox 360 and October 23, 2008, for the PlayStation 3, note this is US release dates.

My Morning Jacket's european tour cancelled.

The upcoming european tour in November has been cancelled due to an injury to Jim James (vocals/guitar).

From My Morning Jacket's website :

"It is with great regret that we have to announce the cancellation of My Morning Jacket's up-coming tour to Europe due to injuries suffered by Jim in Iowa City. For the fans who have purchased tickets, we would liketo extend our gratitude for your support and understanding. Our hope was to merely postpone the tour, but as our scheduling does not allow that to happen in the immediate future, we feel it is best to cancel this tour in hopes of re-scheduling at some point.

We would also like to say 'thank you' to all the fans who have reached out to Jim with their well-wishes as we all hope for his speedy and full recovery. "

Jim James got injured at a concert at the University of Iowa, when he went to get closer to the audience on his side of the stage, and as he moved forward to step onto the sub-woofer the lights darkened, and he inadvertently stepped off the stage. Upon falling, he suffered traumatic injuries to his torso, and was immediately taken to the hospital. Per the doctor's orders, he will be off the road and recovering from his injuries for the next two to three weeks.

To us in Scandinavia this means that the following shows are cancelled:

Sentrum Scene, Nov. 5 - Oslo
Berns, Nov. 6 - Stockholm

Canadian rock band The Trews are releasing the new album "No Time For Later" in Europe. It's already out in Germany, 26th. September 2008, and UK are up on October 24th.

The album has been available from Canada since February.

With the success of the two albums "House of Ill Fame" - who has been certified gold in Canada - & "Den Of Thieves" the new release is certainly something to look forward too.

Today Stonegard announced that they're calling it quits, which means that the forthcoming tour with Enslaved will have to go on without them.

Due to internal conflicts and disagreements Stonegard has decided to cease as a band. In the best Rock N..Roll tradition we could not find a way to continue our work together, and therefore chose to put an end to things right away. Stonegard will not join Enslaved for the announced European tour in November/December, and we are truly sorry to disappoint everyone that was looking forward to seeing the band live this fall. Mostly it has been an incredible joyride, and we hope you all appreciated what we added to the scene. We will most definitely be back in different shapes and constellations so keep your eyes and more importantly ears open. Machine Head & The Sword will open for Metallica in Sweden on the 2 show's there.

Metallica release World Magnetic tour dates for Europe.

Metallica has started to release a few dates for their upcoming World Magnetic Tour in Europe. It started yesterday with shows in Milan at the Datch Forum on June 22 and in Rome at the Palalottomatica on June 24.

According to British “The Guardian”, Led Zeppelin are thinking of replacing Robert Plant with Myles Kennedy as vocalist for their rumoured reunion tour.

The rumour origins from Dee Snider whom in an interview with Canada's MuchMoreMusic network said : "[Led Zeppelin are] saying [to Plant]: 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go, here's a gazillion dollars on the table,'" Snider explained. "'If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid. And he can sing the shit out of Zeppelin, and they’re gonna hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, ‘OK’, and step in.”

Dee Sniders comments have been backed up by producer Kevin "The Caveman" Shirley, who worked on several Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page albums.

Kevin "The Caveman" Shirley wrote on his website cavemanproductions.com : “There is a singer from a Florida heavy metal band who is pretty close to becoming My-Fave-Band-Ever's singer. As the old one has a separate happening career. I have to admit to shock, shock, shock.”

So..Who is Myles Kennedy?

Myles Kennedy (born November 27, 1969) is currently the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist to Alter Bridge, who in turn has released 2 albums; “One Day Remains” in 2004 & “Blackbird” in 2007. Of which “One Day Remains” is a favourite of mine.

* In 2002, Kennedy was asked by Slash to audition as lead singer of Velvet Revolver, but he declined the offer.
* His top five favorite albums are : Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses, Led Zeppelin's untitled fourth album, Highway to Hell by AC/DC, What's Going On by Marvin Gaye, and Jeff Buckley's Grace.
* Suffers from tinnitus

The Answer from Northern Ireland, whose mammoth sound is often compared to Black Crowes and Free, has already been a support band for The Rolling Stones at huge open-air gigs in Belgrade (Serbia), and Dusseldorf (Germany), and The Who in Dublin (Ireland).

They've also been voted "Best New Band 2005" by Classic Rock Magazine.

The Answer, are to open for AC/DC on the North American leg of their Black Ice World Tour.

From a press release:

"IRISH ROCK BAND 'THE ANSWER' TO OPEN FOR AC/DC'S BLACK ICE WORLD TOUR STARTING OCTOBER 28TH.

The Answer are proud to announce that they will be the opening act for the imminent North American leg of AC/DC's Black Ice World tour. The tour runs between the 28th October to the 31st of January, with highlights including dates at New York's Madison Square Garden on November 12th + 13th, and two shows at The Forum in Los Angeles on December the 6th and 8th. Prior to the AC/DC shows The Answer will be performing their New York debut at a CMJ show at The Crash Mansion on October 25th."

The list for next years By:Larm - Oslo, 19.-21. February - has been released, and according to Dagbladet.no (link to the article at the bottom of this Blog.) this is the strongest set of artist's so far in the history of By:Larm.

First, What is By:Larm?

It's a music festival and conference held annually during February at different locations in Norway since 1998. Scandinavias biggest music conference and goes over three days, in which there is seminars & Workshops during the day and concerts in the evenings/night.

The Artists are mostly unknown and unsigned, and as of last year there is a award for the artist showing the largest potential for International success. The Award named "StatoilHydro" after it's sponsor, went last year to "Ida Maria" and was worth 800.000 NOK - Roughly £80.000.

It was planned that By:Larm should alternate between cities in Norway to keep in touch with and motivate the regional music-industry, but due to the treath of bankrupcy(check link to Dagbladet) it was decided that it should be held in the capital of Norway, Oslo in 2008. And due to the success it will be held in Oslo in 2009 aswell.

So to the list. I will sort the artists into Genre to get an easy overview.

And sometime soon I will follow up this Blog with another Blog where I pick out my favourites from the list, If any :)

With their self titled album released on July, 18th 2006, southern rockers Black Stone Cherry from Edmonton, Kentucky - made one of the best debut rock albums I’ve heard. They got labelled with “influences including Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Black Sabbath, but also a heavy side touching more in a Black Label Society vein.” and with such a tag I had to check them out. And WoW did they deliver.

Combining crunching riffs, dynamic drums, gritty, raw vocals Black Stone Cherry blew me away.
